Dad’s going to look at barns, or lean-to run in’s with tack/feed room combo’s, and he is almost finished with snow and will get moving on finishing the pasture fence/cross fence.. 80 tons of gravel coming etc, things are moving along on getting ready for Samwell..
And with seeing these things come together, hubby has agreed that I can “softly” start looking for our new horse, I am so excited, he has agreed that it does not make sense to miss out on a good horse, if the right one found, over the next couple months till sam is either picked up or shipped to dad’s.
It’s not as easy as it sounds, I have a pretty firm list of what I want and what I don’t want and what I am flexible on.
Hard Rules
Draft or Draft Cross
Sound
Broke to ride
Four or older, so I can get a idea on conformation/height
12 or youner- so its a general match to Brandy age wise
ideally right around 16 hands
No alpha’s, need to work well with Brandy
flexable- mare- but prefer gelding
Now the looking starts, and I need to be careful, the horse that is chosen, will be with me for many years to come.. I need to pick wisely..
Sounds like another great adventure: )
“80 tons of gravel coming…” Sorry, but how much does that work out to in (cubic) yards?
don’t know, but its enough to do the driveway, yard and the new gravel drive up to the pasture/barn area
